Paper Folded Bat Halloween Decorations

Easy Paper Bat Craft for Halloween

Creating your own cauldron of bats to use year-over-year is an easy way to bring joy every October! These cuties are created from black cardstock paper and folded to make their wings 3D. Have them fly around your house to set the Halloween mood!

SUPPLY LIST:
- Black Cardstock Paper
- Bat Template
- White Chalk Pencil
- Scissors
- Tape to hang them up (our favorite is washi!)

*Supply material examples linked on our Halloween shopping list

How to Create a Cauldron of Paper Folded Bats

  1. Print out your Bat Template onto cardstock for a sturdy template

  2. Cut each bat template out and trace onto black cardstock

  3. Cut each bat out and repeat for an entire cauldron of bats!
(Hand hurting already? Download this SVG file to use your craft cutting machine.)

  4. The dotted lines mark where to fold to make the bat wings 3D
    - Fold the inner lines toward the front of your bat
    - Fold the outer lines toward the back of your bat

  5. Use tape to help these bats fly around your home (washi tape is our favorite!)

We’d love to see a picture of your cauldron of bats (yes, you can call a group of bats a colony, but cauldron is also appropriate and feels more Halloweeny, right?!)
