From warm golden yellows to soft earthy pinks and browns, you’ll discover the surprising range of colors hiding in your kitchen.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of natural fabric dyeing, from preparing fabrics for dyeing to choosing ingredients that produce different colors. Explore three techniques for transferring color onto fabric: direct application, liquid dye baths, and bundle dyeing. Along the way, discover how factors like fabric fibers, heat, and acidity affect your results, and learn which everyday ingredients are worth experimenting with at home. No prior dyeing experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to experiment!
